It took indoor heating to foster the Renaissance in cold countries. Is that so? Now that we have it, the indoor heating, can we continue the exploration of roots. Pick your own stove. Add people around it. Talk. What belief systems stand up to basic reason, what interpretations have much to do with original texts, what is the role of context in providing for change instead of a past's rigidity, how to provide enough security to the worried so that problems can be solved, not shelved.

Examples of mistranslations boggle the mind and should boggle the belief system. Vet original texts, as far as an amateur (like me) can do on the internet, with "transliteration" sites. Next time a politico says that Genesis 8 promises that the deity will not destroy the earth again, and so there can be no global warming going on, look at if Genesis 8 leads to that conclusion. Text criticism. Hug it.
Next time someone says this version over that, when both are given, is dispositive, and that it means precisely XY and Z, go to sleep. XXXXX's and YYYYY's and XY's ZZZZZ. Back to biology.
Plain Meaning: Nemesis for Manipulators
Meanings of words. How are those concealed by other words. How do propaganda techniques take hold with so little examination. What happened to plain meaning first, and opinionating after. We all know: If people know facts first, the plain meaning, they might not fall in line with those with agendas against them. Spread internet availability, wire or wireless everybody up, get a channel on the TV with colors and pretty people and music and have them do nothing but 24/7 facts. Boost reliable fact-checks with all the Madison Avenue sales pitches we can find. Make it so that even the nursing homes, with TV's put on all day, do not put on Fox (what gnomes are out there putting all the channels on Fox in the nursing homes, then forming these discussion groups to promote the right, and passing out absentee ballots?). Make the Fact Channel so much fun, so deliciously iconoclastic and exlcusive, that we all are dying to be part of it.
